Institute and directed by SFSU professor Dr. Gary Selnow. WiRED
provides medical and healthcare information, education and
communications in developing and war-affected regions,
including Central America. To learn more
about what they do and what we are likely to encounter in Central
America, please visit their website.
ESTIMATED FEES:
$1,600 – includes
airfare to and from SFO to Managua, Nicaragua; lodging (double
occupancy); ground transportation (passenger vans); in-country planning
and coordination; translators and guides; gratuities; communication;
customs fees. Please note that airfare is subject to change until
booked; rising gasoline prices may affect cost.
Method of payment::
Excluding airfare, all fees noted above must be paid with cashier’s
check or money order only. Students will pay for airfare separately and
may use a credit card. Air travel for the group will be arranged by
CAD/Nursing .
$400 – Covers 3 units of
coursework plus $ $100 required University travel insurance. These
fees are required by SFSU whether or not students wish to receive
academic units. This fee is paid to SFSU College of Extended
Learning (check, cash, or credit card).
Food and beverages
(estimated at $275) and personal expenses are NOT included in the above
cost estimates. Students are responsible for these expenses.
ESTIMATED TOTAL:
$2,000 PLUS FOOD, BEVERAGES, AND PERSONAL EXPENSES; additional costs may
be incurred for passport and required vaccinations.

new semester! To ensure a smooth
transition this spring, we would like to
remind you of some important dates and
information:
Our office
hours this semester are as follows:
Monday
through Friday, 9am until 5pm. The office will be closed from 12 - 1 for lunch.

To make an
advising appointment, you must stop by
the CAD office and sign up for an
appointment in the Advising Schedule. It
is in a purple folder located on the
small table outside our office in SCI
394. YOU CANNOT SIGN UP FOR AN
APPOINTMENT OVER THE PHONE. If you need
to cancel your advising appointment,
please call our office immediately at
415-405-3564, then press 0 so we can
make the slot available for another
student. You are only allowed to sign up
for one appointment at a time. If you
sign up for more than one appointment,
your second appointment will be
cancelled for you by the office. After
you have fulfilled your first
appointment, then you may sign up for
another appointment if you need to see
an advisor again. Please remember to
bring a CURRENT copy of your DARs report
and any transcripts from other colleges
to your appointment.
Internship
Deadlines:
To apply
for the internship, you must fill out
the application online at the internship
page of the CAD website. During the
online application, you will be asked to
download two forms, which you must print
out, fill out, and turn into the CAD
office by the internship deadline. If
you fail to submit your application and
the two worksheet forms by the deadline,
your application will be incomplete and
you will not be able to do the
internship. There are no exceptions to
this rule, nor is there a waitlist.
To intern
in the Summer* 2008 semester, apply by
January 22, 2008
To intern in the Fall 2008 semester,
apply by February 15, 2008
*Please
note that the Summer Internship is not
available for students in the School Age
concentration.
Graduation
Deadlines:

timely manner to ensure you receive it
back in time to turn it in by the
University deadline.

Hello Wonderful CAD Students!!
Project Homeless Connect, a volunteer based program created to connect homeless San Franciscans with needed services is holding its 20th event on Monday Jan 7th.
The event will be held from 11am-4pm followed by an "Appreciation Event" at 5pm-7pm hosted by PHC and Mayor Newsom at the Bill Graham Civic Center Auditorium.
The Family Service Area at the PHC event would appreciate your help with childcare. And after the event of offering services, we would like to appreciate YOU!
The Family Service Area tries to create a warm environment for our homeless families who have come to receive services, and wonderful people in our childcare center helps with that.
