Soyeon Park, professor and chair of Child & Adolescent Development (CAD), recently hosted a team of researchers and managers from the Samsung Welfare Foundation. The foundation, founded in 1989, established Samsung Childcare Centers across South Korea and is responsible for the research and development of programs for its 65 childcare centers serving 8,300 young children in 23 cities. Park provided the team with consultation, offering an overview of Early Childhood Education (ECE) trends and policy in the U.S. and discussing topics related to the ECE curriculum. She also facilitated visits to exemplary schools and centers, including the Bing Nursery School at Stanford and the Associated Students’ Early Childhood Education Center at SF State.
