Child & Adolescent Development faculty participate in Child Care & End Child Poverty Advocacy Day in Sacramento
The Department of Child & Adolescent Development (CAD) was an official sponsor of the 2020 Child Care & End Child Poverty in CA Advocacy Day. CAD’s sponsorship contributed to scholarships for parents and child care providers who needed support to attend. CAD faculty (Assistant Professors Linda M. Platas and Alison Baroody and Professor and Chair Soyeon Park) participated in this important day in Sacramento, hearing from expert panelists and speakers about Governor Newsom’s budget proposal, and also joining other partners and attendees to connect to legislative offices. Collectively, the participants made more than 90 legislative visits educating lawmakers and advocating to make child care and early education a priority.
