Child & Adolescent Development (CAD) students who are interested in a graduate degree in therapy, counseling or clinical psychology.
Description/Purpose of Session:
To share information about and discuss the different types of graduate degrees that could lead to careers with therapeutic elements. We will talk about Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, School Psychology, Counseling and different Clinical Psychology programs.

- understand key differences between types of graduate degrees focused on therapy.
- understand what some of the career options are with each type of graduate program.
- familiarize themselves with some of the pros and cons of different graduate programs.
- understand the next step they would need to take to apply to one of these types of graduate programs.
Session Style/Length:
The session will begin with a short reflection activity that will give the presenter information about student interest in the session. There will then be a 20-30 minute presentation of the various types of therapeutic graduate programs. Questions will be welcomed throughout the presentation. The final 30 minutes will be left free for discussion and questions with a particular focus on ensuring students understand their personal next steps if they choose to pursue one of these graduate degrees.
